WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE I APPLY?

Participating in the Leadership Development Academy requires a commitment of time and resources from each participant; however, earlier cohort members report their experience in the program and the rewards of their participation outweigh any sacrifice made to attend.

• Participants are selected through a competitive application process and are chosen from staff and faculty of the university community. Recommendations from supervisors and Leadership Development Academy alumni are encouraged and considered.
• The 2027 Leadership Development Academy begins January 27, 2027 and meets weekly through April 21, 2027.
• Applications will be available on Thurs, Oct. 1, 2026.
• Open House for interested applicants: Thurs, Oct. 22, 2026, 5:15pm, Ledonia Wright Cultural Center (1st Floor, Main Campus Student Center). RSVP here by Fri, Oct. 9, 2026.
• Application due date: Mon, Dec. 7, 2026.

THE APPLICATION PACKET CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING:

• Leadership Development Academy application
• Resume/CV
• A letter of support from your direct supervisor (sent to mccunneyw@ecu.edu)
• Optional additional recommendation letter
